Instant Win Games — Shared Setup
Giveaway Lottery offers a family of instant-win mini-games that turn the reveal of a prize into a fun, interactive moment on the WooCommerce thank-you page. They all work the same way under the hood — this page explains that shared setup once. Each game then has its own short page for the parts that are unique to it.
The games are:
Requires: WooCommerce and the free Giveaway Lottery plugin. Giveaway Lottery Pro is required for auto-generating winning ticket numbers/probabilities and for full prize delivery (coupons, free tickets, etc.). The optional Gift Card for WooCommerce plugin enables the gift-card prize type.
Important: The win/lose outcome is decided by probability when tickets are generated at checkout — the mini-game is a reveal animation, not a game of skill. It never changes the odds. You can only run one game per product (unless you use the “inside Instant Win” mode described below).
How Instant Win Games Work
- On a giveaway product, you configure prize rows (just like Instant Win): a prize, its winning ticket numbers, and a probability.
- A customer buys tickets normally through checkout.
- When tickets are generated, the system decides which tickets are winners based on your probabilities.
- On the thank-you page (and the order view page), the customer plays the game to reveal each ticket’s result.
- Winning tickets trigger prize processing and (optionally) a winner email; losing tickets show a “better luck” reveal.
Step-by-Step: Set Up an Instant Win Game
Part A — Configure Global Settings
Each game has its own settings page under Giveaway Lottery (e.g. Giveaway Lottery → Plinko). Every game’s settings page has four tabs:
- General
- Display position on the thank-you page: Before order details, After order details, or Popup button.
- Prize show — optionally show a prize list on the product page: enable it, pick a Style (1–4), and set the tab and column labels (Prize available text, Ticket number title, etc.).
- Icons — the decorative icons shown for non-winning reveals (and, per game, the winning icons). Add emojis or upload images and Reset defaults.
- Design — Text (board title, buttons, results messages), Colors (theme and accents), and Motion (animation timings).
- Email — Send winner email toggle, Email subject, and Email body. Placeholders:
{customer_name},{order_number},{ticket_no_label},{site_name}.
Click Save settings when done.
Part B — Configure Prizes on a Giveaway Product
- Go to Products → Edit your giveaway product.
- In the Product data panel, open the game’s tab (e.g. Plinko, Balloon Pop).
- Click Add Prize and configure each prize row:
- Prize Icon — an emoji or uploaded image
- Prize Label — e.g. “Grand Prize”
- Prize Type — see the table below
- Ticket Numbers — the specific winning numbers (comma-separated), or use Auto Generate (Pro) to spread them across the ticket range
- Probability — the win chance per ticket
- Prize-type-specific Prize Details
- Add as many prizes as you like, then click Update to save the product.
Prize types available:
| Prize type | Notes |
| Coupon Code | Auto-generated or existing WooCommerce coupon |
| Free Ticket | Extra entries (choose quantity, validity, and giveaway) |
| Reward Points | Points added to the customer’s reward balance |
| Self Site Product(s) | Free or discounted products from your store |
| Gift card / Store card (self site) | Requires a Gift Card plugin |
| 3rd Party Site Product(s) | External prize with custom instructions |
| Gift card / Store card (3rd party site) | External gift card |
| Others | Custom prize with your own message |
Part C — Use a Game Inside Instant Win (Optional)
If a product already uses Instant Win, you can keep those prize rows but reveal them with a game:
- On the product’s game tab, enable “Enable [Game] inside Instant Win”.
- Your Instant Win prizes are synced into the game, and the game shows on checkout instead of the standard Instant Win reveal.
Do not combine standalone Instant Win, the Lucky Wheel addon, and a mini-game on the same product unless you use this “inside Instant Win” mode.
What the Customer Sees
- The game appears on the thank-you page in the position you chose (or behind a popup button).
- The customer plays once per ticket, or uses the “reveal/play all” button to process every ticket at once.
- A results panel summarizes their wins using your custom single-win / multiple-win messages.
- Winners receive the winner email (if enabled), and prizes are delivered per the prize type.
Where Winners Are Recorded
- Each product’s game tab shows a Winner(s) list per prize (ticket number and order).
- All wins are stored in the Giveaway Lottery winner list and reflected in product analytics.
- The optional product-page prize list can show winner names/lists depending on the style you choose.
Pro tip: Keep prize probabilities modest and let the game do the emotional work. A near-miss reveal (a balloon that pops empty, a claw that drops the prize) makes the actual wins feel far more exciting than a plain “you lost” message.
